BIKINI

   Not many of us would imagine there is a connection between atom bomb testing and bathing suits. In 1946 a French designer, Jacques Heimmade and sold in his beachwear shop what he called "the world's smallest bathing suit" At the same moment, the American government exploded a series of atomic bombs from a site on a tiny Pacific Island called Bikini. Somehow, advertisers were inspired to link the two new swimsuit was as small as Bikini Island.

  At any rate, Soon skywriters were advertising Helm's design, urging people to buy the "BIKINI - smaller than the smallest bathing suit in the worls".

  The New design and the advertising . worked Soon bikini were seen at every beach and pool and became a standard item in summer wear.
